About the Peninsula Orchid Society

Founded in 1946, the POS is a society of about 250 orchid enthusiasts and professional growers serving the San Francisco Peninsula. Our mission is to increase the awareness, appreciation, enjoyment, conservation, and cultivation of orchids. To this end we hold monthly meetings as well as organize plant sales, shows, and bus trips to local nurseries. The Peninsula Orchid Society is a nonprofit organization, affiliated with the American Orchid Society.
