The Huntleya Clade

Patricia Harding

Our speaker for this month is Patricia Harding, who will be talking about The Huntleya Clade, a group of orchids covering the genera Huntleya, Pescatorea, Stenia, Kefersteinia and Chondrorhyncha among others. She is currently working on a book that will cover the known species of the group, and will share some of her work along with many pictures, stories and cultural advice for this group. If there is time, Patricia will also show some slides from her recent orchid hunting trip to Brazil.

Patricia Harding is a retired physician. She obtained an undergraduate degree in botany before going on to study medicine. Now Patricia does orchids, as a writer, traveler, photographer and observer, with a little orchid growing on the side. She recently co-authored the book The Cattleyas and their Relatives. The Debatable Epidendrums with Carl L. Withner (Timber Press). When she is not traveling she lives in western Oregon.
